Description
The Macallan Reflexion is part of The Macallan’s Masters Decanter Series — a Speyside single malt crafted from whiskies aged in first-fill, sherry-seasoned petite hogshead oak casks, housed in an elegant angular decanter, presenting a highly floral aroma with notes of vanilla, apricot, and apples, and a palate of chocolate oranges and lemon pie leading to a dry and incredibly smooth finish.
The Masters Decanter Series includes The Macallan Reflexion, The Macallan No.6, and The Macallan M — each presented in a decanter produced by the famous House of Lalique. The Reflexion’s defining characteristic is the petite hogshead cask — a smaller-than-standard cask format that increases the wood-to-spirit contact ratio, enhancing the flavour, colour, and complexity more intensely than a standard hogshead. First-fill sherry-seasoned petite hogsheads concentrate the sherry character particularly rapidly. Browse all Macallan at Wooden Cork.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a petite hogshead and why does it matter?
A petite hogshead is a smaller-than-standard cask format (approximately 100 litres vs the standard 250-litre hogshead). The smaller size increases the wood-to-spirit contact ratio, accelerating flavour, colour, and complexity development. First-fill sherry-seasoned petite hogsheads concentrate the sherry character more intensely than larger cask formats. Limited allocation. Order online.
