Why Stagg Jr. Bourbon Single Barrel Stands Out

Wood sugars from the barrel shape much of the flavour you find. First, bourbon aged in new charred oak commonly leans toward caramel and vanilla. Corn forward mashbills usually carry a rounded, gentle sweetness. As a result, the style rewards slow sipping more than fast mixing. Notably, Stagg Jr. Bourbon Single Barrel makes the case for slowing down a little.

Food Pairing and Occasions

Aged cheddar and salted nuts sharpen the sweeter notes. Indeed, burgers off the grill suit a casual pour on ice. A housewarming gift rarely lands better than a respected pour. Just as important, barbecue night gives this bottle an easy job to do. Weekend tastings with friends give the bottle a proper stage. Overall, pair it with Stagg Jr Kentucky Straight Bourbon Batch for a side by side tasting.

The Story Behind Bourbon

The new charred oak barrel does most of the heavy lifting here. Equally, allocation keeps many sought after labels hard to find at retail. American distillers built this category on corn, oak and patience. Of course, corn leads the mashbill, so the spirit arrives with natural sweetness. Limited releases move quickly once word travels through collector circles. Moreover, browse the wider whiskey brands collection to compare styles.
