Description
Eagle Rare 17 Year Old 2018 is the annual Buffalo Trace Antique Collection release of one of Kentucky’s most celebrated aged single barrel bourbons — nearly two decades in new charred American oak, available in limited quantities once a year each fall, earning F. Paul Pacult’s Spirit Journal highest recommendation and a 96-point score from Wine Enthusiast for its wine-like aromatics, leather, vanilla, and tobacco complexity.
The Buffalo Trace Antique Collection releases Eagle Rare 17 Year annually as one of five limited fall releases alongside William Larue Weller, George T. Stagg, Sazerac 18 Year Rye, and Thomas H. Handy Sazerac. At 17 years in new charred American oak through Kentucky’s extreme seasonal cycling, the 2018 release develops the fragrant, almost wine-like aromatic complexity that distinguishes the 17 Year from standard Eagle Rare 10 Year — almond, cigar boxes, and cinnamon on the nose leading into a delicate and dry mid-palate of leather, vanilla, and tobacco before a long leathery and toffee finish.
