The Macallan 1824 Series Oscuro is the darkest and most intensely sherry-cask-influenced expression in The Macallan’s 1824 colour series — a Speyside single malt representing the deepest natural colour achievable from sherry-seasoned oak maturation, with no artificial caramel colouring used, named for the Spanish/Italian word for ‘dark’ and presented in the European 700ml format.

The 1824 Series was designed to communicate The Macallan’s natural colour philosophy through progression — each expression named for its natural hue derived entirely from sherry-seasoned oak: Amber, Gold, Sienna, and culminating in Oscuro as the apex. The 700ml format identifies this as the European market presentation, distinct from the 750ml US format.
