Description

Van Winkle Family Reserve 12 belongs on any shelf built around quality over volume. Time matters here, and the label states 12 years. That said, we ship it expertly packed across the United States and Canada. Finally, an age statement of 12 years sits on the bottle.

Why Van Winkle Family Reserve 12 Stands Out

The style rewards slow sipping more than fast mixing. In practice, bourbon aged in new charred oak commonly leans toward caramel and vanilla. Expect the warm oak character that defines the American whiskey shelf. For that reason, wood sugars from the barrel shape much of the flavour you find. Better still, Van Winkle Family Reserve 12 makes the case for slowing down a little.

Pairings and Perfect Moments

Bacon wrapped appetisers pair neatly with a bourbon nightcap. In fact, smoked brisket stands up well to a full flavoured pour. Holiday gifting is where a bourbon gift bottle earns its keep. In addition, caramel desserts echo the barrel character without competing. Birthdays, retirements and promotions all suit a bottle of this kind. Likewise, pair it with Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 20 for a side by side tasting.

Bourbon Context Worth Knowing

Straight bourbon spends a minimum of two years in the barrel. As a result, Kentucky remains the heartland of American whiskey production. Barrel entry proof and warehouse position both shape the final liquid. In turn, bourbon starts life as a mash of at least fifty one percent corn. Allocation keeps many sought after labels hard to find at retail. At the same time, browse the wider bourbon whiskey collection to compare styles.

Getting the Best from Van Winkle Family Reserve 12

Treat Van Winkle Family Reserve 12 well and it repays the effort. Serve at room temperature rather than chilled. In other words, a large ice cube slows dilution and keeps the pour cold. Give the glass a minute to rest before the first sip. By comparison, pour it neat first so the oak shows clearly. Moreover, Pappy Van Winkle’s 10 Year 12 makes a natural next bottle.

Naturally, Van Winkle Family Reserve 12 is a straightforward yes for gifting or for your own shelf. We pack every order carefully and ship it without delay.
